Ely Place is a Wine bar based just off Merrion Square in Dublin. It’s a family run business for over 20 years. They renovated the bar back in 2019 just before the pandemic
hit. The family originated from the Burren Co. Clare so they wanted to add some natural textures and bring elements of the Burren into the bar. The basement bar had beautiful oak wooden paneling where they wanted me to create my designs on. The Burren
is know for its unusual combinations of florals. We went with lots of foraged ferns
with a mix of curly willow and other dried floral treats. There is a whitewash brick wall
which we wanted to warm up and add a little floral display to tie it all together. They
also wanted to warm up the toilets and we added some beautiful terracotta vases with
some teasels and echinops with beautiful old family photos from the Burren.
